Take in one of the many festivals with speciality foods, live music, and local craft beer and wine tastings. Neighborhood coffee shops offer hybrid car charging stations and the Amtrak passenger train stops twice a day to pick up travelers en route to Washington, D.C. and New York.

    Bustling with antiques, art and collectible shops, and eclectic restaurants for all tastes, downtown Clarkesville is the perfect Southern town for a lazy Saturday afternoon. Visit landmarks including Grace-Calvary Episcopal Church and the DeSoto monument, which describes how De Soto passed through Habersham County on his travels.
